After years of working on RVs, these are the issues I encounter most often.
Weak Battery
This is probably the number one cause.
Slide-out motors draw a large amount of current. A battery that seems “good enough” for lights may still be too weak to move the slide.
Blown Fuse
A blown slide fuse often happens after the slide binds or the motor briefly overloads.
Replacing the fuse fixes the problem—but if it blows again, there is usually an underlying issue.
Bad Slide Switch
The switch receives thousands of cycles over its life.
Eventually the contacts wear out and no longer send power to the controller.
Corroded Battery Connections
Even minor corrosion creates resistance.
The slide motor may receive enough voltage to operate lights but not enough current to move the room.
Failed Control Module
